Sports lovers of the region will pay tributes to hockey coach Darshan Singh Sidhu during his bhog ceremony at a gurdwara in Assi Kalan village tomorrow.
Born to an agrarian family of Bachan Singh and Karnail Kaur, Sidhu died at the age of 67 on May 29.
Being a national hockey player himself, Sidhu had prepared a hockey team of girls at Government Senior Secondary School, Kila Raipur, in 1985 and a large number of his trainees are still working on prestigious posts in various government departments and public sector.
Sidhu was actively involved in organisation of world-famous Kila Raipur sports for around five decades. He had done diploma in physical education from Amravati in Maharashtra and degree in hockey from the National Institute of Sports, Patiala.
