The CBSE Class XII examination began today. The students took the English exam in the morning session.

However, students were panicked as one of the questions for 6 marks was reportedly out of syllabus.

Atima, who took the exam at Guru Nanak Public School, said as per the syllabus, two questions were supposed to be from novels and there had to be a choice. “When we saw the question paper, there were two questions but no choice. At the centre, we were told to leave the space and we did accordingly,” said the student.

One of the teachers said students were startled and harried to see that there was no choice as per the syllabus. They were asked not to worry about it.

Inayat, another student, said students were panicked when they saw the questions. She said though grace marks would be given, students would remain worried and confused. “However, we have been assured by teachers that the board will provide us with grace marks and we should concentrate on next exam now,” said Inayat.
