Students visit old-age home

As a paragon of developing a humanistic society, students of the AS Group of Institutions, Khanna, visited an old-age home, Bulepur.

Khushpal Chand Bhardwaj, secretary of the old-age home, welcomed the students and enlightened them about various problems faced by the elderly because of the weakened socio-cultural fabric.

Dr Harpreet Singh, director, spoke about the proliferation of issues pertaining to the aged, which were often overlooked.

The wizened residents of the home enjoyed the visit and appreciated the cultural show and gifts. The students pledged to work for educating society about problems and needs of senior citizens.

The visit was organised by Arjun Dhammi, NSS Coordinator. Adv Rajiv Rai Mehta, president; Sushil Kumar, vice-president; Adv BK Batra, general secretary; and Adv Naveen Thamman, secretary; and other members of the management also appreciated the efforts of the NSS wing towards promotion of a healthy society.
