Swaran Cinema in trouble for running sans NOC

The Ludhiana Commissionerate has issued a show-cause notice on Swaran Cinema Palace for running it without obtaining a mandatory NOC from the government departments.
A notice was issued by DCP Dhruman Nimbale. In a notice issued, copy with The Tribune, the DCP has asked them to appear in person and provide a written clarification on the issue within two days else their licence would be suspended.
DCP Dhruman said as per the Cinema Regulation Rules, 1952, mandatory yearly inspection for every cinema is required. Under this, a cinema has to obtain NOCs from four different departments, including ACP South Ludhiana, Executive Engineer PWD, Assistant Divisional Fire Officer Ludhiana and chief electricity officer, Punjab Government, Patiala.
In the Swaran Cinema case, they applied for 2017-18 inspection on July 8, but till November this year, the cinema had not submitted a single report in the Police Department, the notice states.
