Three of family booked for thrashing youth
Ludhiana, January 5
The police have registered an attempt-to-murder case against three members of a Jagraon-based trader’s family among others for allegedly assaulting a youth. Anup Sayal, Anil Sayal, Sourav Sayal and two unidentified persons have booked under Section 307, 324, 323, 148-49 and 294 of the IPC. All suspects have absconded.
The case was registered on a complaint of the victim, Rinku, a resident of Jagraon. Rinku stated that Anup Sayal, Anil Sayal, Sourav Sayal and two unidentified persons attacked him near the Subhash Gate area after his car hit Anup Sayal, who was riding a two-wheeler.
The police rushed Rinku to Civil Hospital, Jagraon. His condition is stated to be stable.
The investigating officer, ASI Harmesh Kumar, said: “The police are carrying out raids to arrest them and they will be arrested soon.” — TNS
