Tiny tots learn handwashing techniques

With the aim to inculcate the habit of handwashing among children and educate them to maintain goodm personal and general hygiene, Global Handwashing Day was observed by tiny tots across the city.

BCM, Chandigarh Road

BCM Kindergarten, Chandigarh Road, celebrated Global Handwashing Day. Students were educated about personal hygiene and cleanliness. A handwashing activity was also organised. Tiny tots were made aware to wash their hands before having their meals as dirty hands were the root cause of various diseases. Teachers taught kids the steps of washing hands.

Green Land, Dugri

Global Handwash Day was celebrated with enthusiasm at Green Land Convent School, Dugri. Students of kindergarten participated in a handwashing activity. Students brought handwash liquid and towels from home. Teachers told them about five easy steps to maintain hand hygiene. Students were also explained the do’s and don’ts of hand hygiene. Vijayata Rudra, director of Green Land chain of schools, addressed students and told them to keep themselves healthy by cleaning hands regularly and prevent diseases.

Government High School, Phullanwal village

Lions Club of the city observed Lions’ service activities week from October 10 to 15 to serve people. Regular projects with distribution of food to poor, fruits to school children, blood donation camp, diabetes awareness with free sugar check-up camps were organised to observe World Sight Day, Global Handwashing Day and World Food Day. Under the service activities week, projects on Global Handwashing day, World Food Day was held at Government High School, Phullanwal village. Soaps and sanitisers were distributed to students. More than 500 students actively took part in seminars. Students were also informed about healthy living.

Police DAV Public School

Global Handwashing Day was observed at Police DAV Public School by students of preprimary. Students were familiarised with steps of washing hands for a healthy and hygienic lifestyle.

BCM, Basant Avenue

Tiny tots of BCM Kindergarten, Basant Avenue, actively participated in handwashing activity on Global Handwashing Day. Students washed their hands with soap before and after their lunch, as instructed by their teachers.

Green Land Convent, New Subhash Nagar

Green Land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar, celebrated Global Handwashing Day with the objective to educate kids about handwashing, which is an annual global advocacy day dedicated to increasing awareness and understand the importance of handwashing. Tiny tots of prenursery to Class III were shown a Power Point presentation to encourage them to stay hygienic and keep their hands clean.
