Ludhiana, July 6
A four-day training programme in the basics of computer-aided design (CAD) and its application started at Ludhiana Knitted Apparel Cluster on Wednesday.
The sole aim of imparting training is to develop Ludhiana Knitted Apparel Cluster as a Smart Cluster with improved local and global competitiveness. As many as 20 participants have been selected to get training in CAD-CAM systems, which are required for cutting fabrics, quality control and reducing the cost of production.
SS Bedi, cluster development manager, ACDS, Ludhiana, inaugurated the training programme. He said there was a need of such initiatives, which could benefit the industry as well as job seekers.
“These programmes can bridge the gap between the supply of skilled labour force and their demand for the industry,” he added.
