Tributes paid to Bains’ father

Ludhiana: Sukhpal Singh Khaira, AAP MLA and former leader of the Opposition, along with other politicians, attended the 'bhog' of the father of MLAs Simarjit Singh Bains and Balwinder Singh Bains here on Saturday. Mohan Singh, father of Bains brothers, had passed away on August 31. MP Dharamvir Gandhi, MP Ravneet Singh Bittu, MLA Sanjay Talwar, former SGPC president Avtar Singh Makkar, politicians, including Jagmeet Singh Brar, Balwant Singh Ramoowalia, among others paid tributes to the departed soul. Bank’s foundation day

Ludhiana: All 96 branches of the Bank of India in Ludhiana zone celebrated the 113th foundation day. Kuldeep Jindal, Zonal Manager, granted 135 scholarships and gifts to girls. The bank also donated money to a school for deaf and dumb in Ludhiana and disbursed loans to farmers, entrepreneurs and vehicle and housing customers. — TNS
