Martyrdom Day of Guru Arjan Dev was observed with fervour in Sahnewal at the historical Gurdwara Shri Reru Sahib here today. After the bhogs of akhand paths; hymns dedicated to the fifth guru, were recited.
Devotees served water to commuters in afternoon. Kaar Sewa chief of the gurudwara in Sahnewal Baba Major Singh said, “The sangat served sweet water since morning. Guru Arjan Dev Ji sent a message among the public that one should never be moved by adverse situation, rather face them with determination and strong will power.”
“People from other communities also participated in serving sweet water to people. We organise chabeel every year throughout the day. Serving chabeel in scorching heat gives great satisfaction. Serving sweet water is a message of the Guru who was not shakened during the hardships. He kept his calm till the last breath of his life,” shared the President of management committee of Gurudwara Reru Sahib Baljit Singh Hara.
