Two held with Rs 55 lakh

The police claimed to have recovered a huge amount of money and nabbed two persons in this regard. Those nabbed have been identified as Pardeep Kumar and Harish Kumar, both residents of Hapar in UP.

Deepak Rai Khanna, DSP, said a police party led by Manjit Singh, in-charge of narcotics cell, was checking the suspected vehicles/persons at a naka near Pristine Mall on GT Road (Alour).

During checking, a car (Breeza) No UP-37-E-9786 was witnessed coming from the Gobindgarh side. The police signalled the car to stop. The police found Rs 55 lakh kept in the car. As per the DSP, the nabbed persons failed to provide any document about the cash recovered from the car.

The DSP said both persons, along with the cash were coming from UP and were going towards Ludhiana when they were nabbed by the Khanna Police. They were handed over to Inspector Manoj Kundal of the investigation wing of the Income Tax Department for further investigation. — OC
