U-25 dist-level games begin today

LUDHIANA: The Under-25 district-level games for boys and girls will be organised at different venues across the district from August 6 to 8.

The Under-25 district-level games for boys and girls will be organised at different venues across the district from August 6 to 8.

Venues are Guru Nanak Stadium, multipurpose indoor hall opposite the stadium, Municipal Corporation Swimming Pool, Punjab Agricultural University campus ground, leisure valley skating rink at Sarabha Nagar and Samrala.

Tavinder Singh, District Sports Officer (DSO), Ludhiana, said the three-day event is being conducted by the Punjab Sports Department to commemorate the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev under the Tandurst Punjab Mission. Competition in as many as 17 sports disciplines will be held during these games.

The games in the Under-14 were held from July 23 to 25 and in the Under-18 category from July 30 to August 1. Matches in some disciplines the Under-18 section, on the final day, could not be completed due to rain, which would now be held along with the games in the Under-25 group, the DSO said. — OC
