Residents complained of inconvenience in terms of getting proper treatment for their pets at the Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Sciences University (GADVASU) since Thursday.
They rued that some of the scanning machines at the varsity were non-functional and officials were turning them back.
Amarjeet Singh Batth said he went to get an ultrasound done of his dog but he was told that the machine was not working due to power failure but today again he got the same reply.
Dr PS Brar, dean at the varsity said even though the varsity has a dedicated power supply line there was some power failure yesterday. All the emergency services were provided to pet owners, however, sophisticated machines which cost lakhs were not attached with generator because of power fluctuation. The machines could have got damaged.
