Waqf Board chairman manhandled

Punjab Waqf Board Chairman Junaid Raza Khan was allegedly manhandled by some persons at Islamia school in the Basti Jodhewal area here on May 12.

A case in this regard has been registered against four persons — Hafiz Tehsin, Mohd Jamil and two unknown persons.

Chairman’s gunman Shingara Khan told the police that on May 12, when the chairman was participating in a function at Islamia school, the accused started arguing with Shingara Khan and later, manhandled the chairman. He said the assailants also roughed him up. A close aide of the Waqf Board Chairman said that assailants wanted to create tension in the school function. The police said efforts were on to nab the accused.
