Where is the law and order?
The law and order situation in the industrial hub of the state is going from bad to worse each day with gun-point robberies, snatchings, loot and murders having become the order of the day. No day goes without one or the other heinous crime taking place in some part of the city. The net result is there is widespread sense of scare and insecurity among the people while the anti-social and criminal elements are having a field day. The working of the police where detection of criminal cases is concerned, leaves much to be desired because for every solved case, there are many others with no progress, whatsoever. It should be a cause of concern for the police top brass and more so for the government to enforce effective policing and create fear of law among the criminal elements.
(Unscheduled) Power cut
Power cut was imposed in entire Ghumar Mandi area, Rani Jhansi Road, HIG flats and surrounding areas on Saturday which was unscheduled with no prior intimation to the residents who thought that it to be some sort of disruption which would be rectified in an hour or so. Even the PSPCL complaint office claimed that supply would be restored within two hours. Hours went by and restless residents again started calling up power utility officials who claimed that there was no cut from their side. This entire process took at least seven hours and the electricity which went off at 11:30 am was restored at 6:20 pm. It shows that even the PSPCL officials were in the dark and they were unaware about shutdown taken for urgent maintenance work.
Not a healthy idea for kids
Bringing kids to the protest site to bring a humane side to the activity has become common these days. Every other day, some organisation or association is protesting, and they often bring along kids to the site where protest is taking place. Many such incidents have been witnessed and captured by our lens man (see pic). These kids do not even know the meaning and purpose of the protest in which they are in advertently taking part and should be kept away from such activities.
