A woman gave birth to a child in an auto-rickshaw in the parking lot of Civil Hospital late night on Monday. The 26-year-old woman is a resident of Shimlapuri. Her husband, Tejinder Singh, said he belonged to a family with meagre sources and earned his livelihood by operating an auto-rickshaw.
He took his wife to a private hospital on Gill Road. The doctors there told him that his wife needed operation and he had to deposit Rs 50,000 for the same.
Since he was unable to arrange such a big amount, he took his wife to Civil Hospital in his auto-rickshaw.
As he was parking the auto in the parking lot of Civil Hospital, his wife gave birth to a baby. Both were shifted to the hospital later. Their condition is stable.
