Workshop on communication skills

Ludhiana: A workshop on building effective communication skills was organised at Bajaj College by eminent national trainer Aabha Sikri. Tactics of effective public speaking were extensively focused upon during the session. Sikri said the key to rise above hesitations was to move through them and practice thoroughly. 

Installation ceremony

The installation ceremony of new office-bearers of commerce society, women forum and career counselling, guidance and placement cell of the Government College for Girls was held. Prashant Somani, alumni of IIM Indore, delivered a lecture on “Corporate Expectations”. He talked about crucial skills that must be developed to be successful in the corporate sector.

Budding Journalist Contest 

Department of journalism and mass Communication of the Guru Nanak Khalsa College for Women, Gujarkhan Campus, Model Town, organised a budding journalist contest. Students presented PPTs on issues such as floods, women harassment and environment exploitation. Meanwhile, the postgraduate department of commerce, in collaboration with the Times Institute, organised an extension lecture on corporate expectations by Prashant Somani, alumni of IIM Indore. He shared information about various job descriptions for different profiles and stressed the need of being competent.

Information Tech fest organised 

Techno Wit 2019, an IT fest was organised by the postgraduate department of computer science of Kamla Lohtia SD College. The event explored the talent of students in the field of information technology and give them an opportunity to showcase their IT skills. 

Art and craft workshop

A seven-day workshop of art and craft was organised at Arya College for Girls by the department of home science. More than 100 students participated to enhance their skills in flower-making, pot decoration, ornate gift packing and perfume making. 

Cultural bonanza on Freshers’ party

The Khalsa Institute of Management and Technology for Women, Civil Lines, organised a cultural function, Aagaz-n-Aagman 2019, to welcome new students. A two-day fest was also organised in which various off-stage competitions were conducted. TNS
