Workshop on personality development
Ludhiana: A three-day workshop on ‘Personality Development and Dining Etiquette’ was organised at the Khalsa College for Women, Civil Lines, Ludhiana, which concluded on Wednesday. The workshop was organised by the English Department in collaboration with the International School of Etiquette (ISOE). Around 200 students attended the workshop. The different sessions included training on various facets of personality development. In the first session students were apprised of the nuances of body language and conversational skills through various interactive sessions. In the second session students were trained on behaviour in public speaking, confidence building, presentation skills and voice modulation. The third and concluding session was conducted by Roopa Pahwa, founder of ISOE, on dining etiquette. College principal Dr. Mukti Gill appreciated the efforts of the English Department.
‘Skill Will’ week inaugurated at BCM college
A week-long ‘Skill Will’ programme organised at the BCM College of Education, Ludhiana, was inaugurated on Wednesday. The programme was organised to equip the would-be teachers with excellent communication and employability skills. Kusum Lata, Principal Government Senior Secondary School, Sarabha Nagar, was the resource person of the day who conducted workshop on Improvisation of Teaching Aids. College principal Monika Dua motivated the students to be a part of this week-long programme. Resource person Kusum deliberated on effective utilisation of teaching aids and psychological principles to cope up with problems of students.
GNIMT holds inter-college competitions
The Guru Nanak Institute of Management and Technology, Gujarkhan Campus, Model Town, Ludhiana, organised third Professor Gurbir Singh Sarna Memorial Inter-College Competitions. It was an inter-college managerial abilities competition comprising technical events such as web page development, debugging, logo designing, PPT and literary events. As many as 350 students from 21 colleges in and around Ludhiana participated in this event. The programme was aimed to pay tributes to Gurbir Singh Sarna, General Secretary of the Institute and former Professor of Economics at GGNIMT, Ludhiana. HS Singha, director of the institute extended a warm welcome to the chief guest Sehijpal Singh, guest of honour, Jasmaninder Singh Grewal, students and teachers of the participating colleges .
Sehijpal Singh gave away the prizes to the winners. He appreciated the performance of all participants. — TNS
