Ludhiana: The Janakpuri police claimed to have arrested a youth who had fraudulently exchanged his ATM card with a woman on the pretext of helping her and later withdrew Rs 73,000.



Ludhiana: The Janakpuri police claimed to have arrested a youth who had fraudulently exchanged his ATM card with a woman on the pretext of helping her and later withdrew Rs 73,000. The accused has been identified as Nitin Sharma (Bhola), a resident of Jain Colony. The accused had withdrawn cash from the ATM card of Jasvir Kaur of Barnala last week. The police said  they had also recovered four other ATM cards of other persons. The accused is facing five more cases of fraud registered against him at the Basti Jodhewal police station. The police said the accused had come out on bail about a month ago. He confessed to having looted more than a dozen people. TNS

Two nabbed with stolen bikes

Ludhiana: The police division 2 nabbed two persons identified as Love Kumar Moosa and Dalip Kumar of Islam Ganj and seized four two-wheelers, five mobile phones, artificial jewellery, branded watches, ladies suits, camera, LED and pressure cooker from them. The police said the accused confessed to having committed several thefts in the city and recently they committed targeted a house in Kidwai Nagar. Police remand of the accused was being taken for further investigation so that more recovery of stolen goods could be made. TNS

One held with 500-gm ganja

Ludhiana: The police division 7 nabbed a person and recovered 500-gm ganja. The accused has been identified as Charanjit Singh, a resident of Jain Colony, The police said acting on a tip-off, a raid was conducted at EWS Colony from where the accused was nabbed with the narcotic. TNS

PO nabbed

Ludhiana: The PO wing nabbed a proclaimed offender wanted in a snatching case registered at the Dugri police station in 2017. The accused has been identified as Buta Ram, a resident of Phagwara. In-charge of the PO wing, inspector Prem Singh said following a tip-off, a police party conducted a raid and nabbed the accused. He was produced in a court, which sent him in judicial custody. TNS
