Chandigarh, August 12
A 35-year-old woman was stabbed on her face, neck and stomach by her estranged husband in full public view near the Airport light point here today. The suspect has been arrested.
The police said they received information around 8.50 am that a man had stabbed a woman and a team of cops went to the spot. The injured woman, who was identified as Neelam of Hallo Majra, was rushed to the GMCH in Sector 32.
The police said the victim and her husband Lal Bahadur (40) had a matrimonial dispute since long. They had married around 10 years ago but did not have a child. For the past two months, they had been living separately.
The victim’s husband, who was nabbed at the spot, stated that he suspected his wife of being in an illicit relationship. The couple belongs to Azamgarh in Uttar Pradesh and work here as labourers. — TNS
