Mandeep Singh will lead the Punjab team in the forthcoming Ranji Trophy matches, starting from December 9. The Punjab senior selection committee met under the chairmanship of Arun Sharma at the IS Bindra Stadium PCA in Mohali today to pick up the team.

Punjab are placed in Elite Group A with Rajasthan, Hyderabad, Vidarbha, Delhi, Kerala, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal.

Punjab will open their campaign against Rajasthan on December 9 in Jaipur. In their second match, Punjab will face Hyderabad from December 17 to 20 at Dhruv Pandove Stadium in Patiala.

The 16 member squad will leave for Jaipur on December 6.
