Minister launches app on dengue awareness
Mohali, August 9
Health Minister Surjit Kumar Jiyani launched a dengue-free application to create awareness about the disease here today.
The minister, who launched the application at Punjab Health Systems Corporation in Phase VI here, said efforts were being made to make people aware about the ailment through all means.
The application is in Punjabi and English.
On the occasion, government health institutions were honoured for doing commendable work. Patiala, Pathankot and Barnala districts were honoured for overall work in the health sphere. The others honoured were the district hospital, Mansa, the sub-divisional hospitals at Dasuya, Abohar and Malout and the community health centre at Kinnar.
Principal Secretary, Health, Vini Mahajan said Hepatitis C treatment was being provided free of cost in hospitals. Among those present at the function were civil surgeons and SMOs. — OC
