The only automated college in region

The most popular college in the tricity for commerce courses, GGDSD (Goswami Ganesh Dutta Sanatan Dharma) College in Sector 32, has geared up this year for the admissions as well. Last year, the cut-off for BCom-I was 98 per cent. The college says that they provide the best faculty and beyond classroom experience to the students which produces such results.
The campus is spread over 16.5 acres. It was established in 1973 in memory of Goswami Ganesh Dutta. ‘Firm in faith, broad in mind’ is the motto of the college. The college infrastructure includes 51 laboratories, four seminar halls, two hostels, recreation hall, sports ground, auditorium-cum-gymnasium and an air conditioned administrative block. The library has 68,850 books and e-books.
The college claims to have gone completely paperless, which includes attendance, accounts and administrative works of the college. Principal Bhushan Sharma said, “It is the only automated college in the region. The work for the same has been outsourced to Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and an engineer from the company is permanently posted on the campus.”
The college has A+ accreditation from NAAC and has been ranked 41 in the national institutional ranking framework. The college was selected under ‘FIST Programme’ scheme by the DST, Government of India, and runs 13 parallel career oriented ‘Add-on’ courses.
The college participates in various extracurricular activities, including Panjab University youth festival and has a plethora of sports activities that goes on the campus. The college has a separate placement cell which works with student coordinators of various disciplines.
