Mobile brand ‘Zopo’ enters Punjab
Amritsar: Chinese mobile phones have penetrated in the Indian market and grabbed at least 25 per cent share, said Sanjeev Bhatia, founder and CEO, Adcom, during the launch of a new mobile brand ‘Zopo’ in the market here today.
Earlier, Chinese brands like Xiaomi, Oppo, Gionee etc, have made a mark in the Indian market due to their advanced features and attractive prices. These companies, that have been offering tablets, powerbanks and other supporting gadgets besides smart phones, have belied the notion that China-made products lack quality and durability. Zopo company has entered in the Punjab market through Amritsar with its popular handsets like Speed 7, Speed 7 Plus, Hero 1 and Color series.
Talking to The Tribune, Bhatia said, “Amritsar is a pious place due to the Golden Temple and is recognised at the global level. There could be no other city than Amritsar to kickstart our product. In Amritsar, the company has built a strong network of 25 retailers and around 500 in the state, to secure this market.” After having launched itself in 30 different cities in the country in alignment with its ambitious expansion strategy, Zopo intends to reach 6 to 7 per cent of the mobile device market in the next three months. — TNS
