Looks can be deceptive; Never judge a book by its cover; if you can think of any other saying, write it down or make a mental note of it while watching Punjabi film, Krazzy Tabbar.

The posters of the film created a mirage of humour and fun, but as you got closer to it, you realised this was nothing but plain confusion and sadness.

Directed by Ajay Chandok, the film is crying for a story, dialogues, punch lines, romance and action. From the first scene till the end, you see so many scenes, fights, exaggerated, dry comedy, more fights, more dry comedy, songs, touch and go romance where the lead pair looks like they’ve were cast for two different projects, but ended up working together, more fights, display of jattism, more jattisms but you don’t understand the reason behind this craziness.

If talking about how the number of court case defines a jatt’s jattism, well, then we have certainly come far in Punjabi cinema, if  letting the camera stay on a woman dressed in garish suits and garish make-up and accessories for a decent time, well, then cinematography has touched new heights of craziness. Who should be held responsible for such craziness that is not even fun, the director, writers or the actors?

The film tried hard to pack some comedy, but failed in each attempt. Not for a moment does Krazzy Tabbar grips you, not for a moment does the romance brings a twinkle in your eyes. Krazzy Tabbar has nothing crazy about it, in fact.

And the lesser we talk about the actors, the better. Yograj Singh, you sure look handsome in your grey avatar, but what about picking some hand-some characters too! BN Sharma and Jaswinder Bhalla, you are great with comedy, how about watering some of your drooping comedy punches. Priyanka Mehta, it is okay, there is always a second time. Shavinder Mahal, daddy don’t preach me.

Did you just say Harish Verma? Harish Verma again! But why? Why would such a brilliant actor do a ‘Krazzy’ thing like this? The songs of the film have created no magic either.

On the whole, Krazzy Tabbar was supposed to one joy, fun-filled ride, but it turned out to be craziness that just makes you sad or mad!
