Warangal (Telangana), July 4
At least 10 persons were killed and several others injured in a major explosion at a fireworks factory in Telangana’s Warangal city on Wednesday.
The mishap occurred around 11.30 am, the police said. Such was the impact of the explosion that the entire roof of the Bhadrakali fireworks, located in Kashibugga area of the city, was blown off.
Some of the injured have suffered severe burn injuries and have been shifted to the MGM Government Hospital in the city. Some of the houses in the vicinity of the factory have developed cracks.
It was not immediately clear how many persons were working inside the factory at the time of the mishap. Soon after the blast, people in the vicinity rushed to help the injured and called the police and the fire services. — TNS
