6 of debt-ridden family found dead in J’khand

Like Delhi’s Burari incident in which 11 members of a family reportedly committed suicide, the Jharkhand Police on Sunday recovered the bodies of six members of a family from an apartment in Hazaribagh district. The deceased included two men, women and children each.

Even though the police have recovered suicide notes from the spot, they are porbing all angles. Sources said two of them allegedly committed suicide by hanging themselves with a fan. While a child was poisoned to death, the other was killed by slitting the throat. One of the women died from strangulation. The head of the family, Naresh Maheshwari, allegedly committed suicide by jumping off the building roof. “Whether all six members of the family committed suicide or they were killed could only be revealed after thorough investigation,” said DSP Chandan Vats. — OC
