At least six Shiksha Mitras have reportedly committed suicide in different parts of the state following the Allahabad High Court Saturday reversed the regularization of services of 1.70 contractual Shiksha Mitras as assistant teachers. The state government is likely to challenge the decision in the Supreme Court. TNS

The Union Ministry of Health has extended the deadline for the receipt of proposals to set up new medical colleges and enhancement of MBBS intake for the academic year 2016-17 until September 15.
