New Delhi, September 12
The Aam Aadmi Party today suspended its Bijwasan MLA Col Devinder Sehrawat from primary membership days after he accused party leaders of “sexually exploiting” women in return for party ticket in Punjab and blamed Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for the controversial appointment of 21 AAP MLAs as parliamentary secretaries.
The decision was taken at a political affairs committee meeting this evening. Sehrawat had yesterday asked Kejriwal to spell out his stand on several allegations, including “illegal termination of pregnancy” of a 23-year-old in Gurgaon.
Last week, Sehrawat had written to Kejriwal raising “uncomfortable” questions on the conduct of several party leaders for seeking sexual favours in Punjab.
He also asked Kejriwal to clear his stand on AAP leader Ashutosh backing Sandeep Kumar, sacked from the Cabinet over a sex tape. — TNS
