After liquor, Bihar bans ‘pan masala’

Patna: The Bihar Government on Friday put in place a ban on ‘pan masala’, which, however, will be applicable for one year. The state Food Safety Commissioner said: “Twelve companies in the state have been totally barred from production, storage, transportation, exhibition and sale of ‘pan masala’ either in packed or loose form for next one year from August 30.” Bihar banned liquor on April 1, 2016. Chandrayaan-2 completes 4th orbit change 

Chennai: The Indian space agency on Friday evening successfully completed the fourth lunar-bound orbit change for the Chandrayaan-2 spacecraft. The ISRO said the spacecraft's manoeuvre began at 6.18 pm, using its onboard propulsion system for 1,155 seconds. The next lunar-bound orbit manoeuvre is scheduled on September 1. IANS

RS to set up Dr S Radhakrishnan Chair

New Delhi: The Rajya Sabha has initiated the process for establishing Dr S Radhakrishnan Chair and four fellowships under its research and study scheme. The PTI had erroneously quoted the UGC to say that the Chair will be established in universities across the country. The Rajya Sabha has clarified that only one Chair will be set up. pti
