Groom killed in UP celebratory firing

Lucknow: Wedding festivities turned into mourning in a village of Lakhimpur Kheri when just before the "jaymaala" ceremony a stray bullet reportedly from celebratory firing hit the bridegroom in the chest who was declared dead by doctors soon after. The incident occurred at Rampur village under the Neemgaon police station where bridegroom Sunil Verma fell victim to a bullet fired from one Ram Chandra's licensed pistol who fled the spot thereafter.
