New Delhi: National carrier Air India, for the first time, has promoted one of its security personnel out-of-turn for exemplary honesty and professional integrity. Subhash Chander, posted in the security wing, has been promoted to the rank of officer security. Chander has on several occasions returned valuables, cash and belongings left by passengers, the airline said. In June, he found a pouch with Rs 5 lakh which was returned. In 2003, gold ornaments left by a passenger were returned. PTI
Railway university to award MBA
Vadodra: In a step towards setting up the country's first railway university, an MoU will be signed on Wednesday between the National Academy of Indian Railways (NAIR) and Maharaja Sayajirao University to award MBA degrees to rail employees in various fields like accounts and personnel. NAIR, the apex training institute for railway officers, has been selected for upgradation as a full-fledged Railway University. IANS
Street children to get Aadhaar card
Chennai: Women and Child Development Minister Maneka Gandhi on Tuesday said street children would be given birth certificate and Aadhaar cards. She said the initiative would help them obtain an identity for their future use to move ahead. IANS
