Amish Tripathi director of London’s Nehru Centre
New Delhi: Author Amish Tripathi has been named the director of London’s Nehru Centre, which is under the Indian Council for Cultural Relations. He will take over from diplomat Srinivas Gotru, whose four-year tenure ended early this year. Tripathi was appointed after he applied for the post. The Nehru Centre was founded in 1992 with Gopalkrishna Gandhi as its founder director. PTI
‘Make me Minister for Garbage’: Goa MLA
Panaji: Desperately angling for a ministerial berth, Deputy Speaker and BJP MLA Michael Lobo on Friday urged Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant to appoint him as “Minister for Garbage” in order to resolve the coastal state’s garbage disposal woes. Lobo has in the past openly complained about the BJP not offering him a Cabinet berth, despite playing a key role during the formation of the BJP-led coalition government in 2017. IANS

New Delhi: Yoga guru Baba Ramdev will unveil the trials, tribulations and triumphs of his life and provide insights into his childhood in his soon-to-be published autobiography. The book, co-authored with journalist Uday Mahurkar, addresses the major controversies, turning points and achievements of Ramdev’s life. PTI
