Amritsar boy 2nd in UPSC

NEW DELHI: Nandini KR, an officer of the Indian Revenue Service, has topped the civil services examination, the result of which was declared today by the Union Public Service Commission. Amritsar’s Anmol Sher Singh Bedi, 23, a graduate in computer science from BITS, Pilani, secured the second rank. G Ronanki secured the third position.

New Delhi, May 31

Nandini KR, an officer of the Indian Revenue Service, has topped the civil services examination, the result of which was declared today by the Union Public Service Commission.

Amritsar’s Anmol Sher Singh Bedi, 23, a graduate in computer science from BITS, Pilani, secured the second rank. G Ronanki secured the third position. Bilal Mohiuddin Bhat from Handwara in Kashmir stood 10th, and Tejasvi Rana from Kurukshetra 12th.

Nandini, who belongs to Karnataka and is undergoing training at the National Academy of Customs, Excise and Narcotics in Faridabad, said, “It is like a dream come true. I always wanted to be an IAS officer.” This was her fourth attempt.

She had cracked the 2014 exam and was allotted the IRS. Nandini belongs to the Other Backward Class  category. She holds a BE (Civil) degree from MS Ramaiah Institute, Bengaluru. — PTI
