Former Delhi Congress chief Arvinder Singh Lovely on Saturday rejoined the Congress almost a year after he had left the party to go to the BJP.

Former Transport Minister in the Sheila Dikshit led-Congress government in Delhi, Lovely had quit the Congress after the party’s severe drubbing in the Assembly and the local body polls.

Lovely also had major and irreconcilable differences with senior Delhi leader Ajay Makan, a Sheila Dikshit baiter.
Lovely today rejoined the Congress after meeting the party chief Rahul Gandhi in the presence of Makan, currently the Delhi Congress president.

Formal joining was announced at AICC headquarters here by Congress in charge for Delhi PC Chacko.

The development is in line with Gandhi’s recent initiatives to get sparring leaders to work together.

Gandhi managed to get Makan and Sheila bury the hatchet and appear together on stage to slam AAP for three years of “mis governance in Delhi”.

Gandhi has also asked Makan to keep personal preferences aside in larger party interest which is what explains the rejoining of Lovely, a diehard Sheila loyalist, into, the Congress.
