Flipping all prior theories and investigations, the CBI on Tuesday night arrested a Class XI student of Ryan International School for allegedly murdering the Class II student, Pradyuman Thakur.

The boy is a resident of Dhaula village. Pradyuman was found murdered in the school’s toilet with his throat slit in August.

The Gurugram police had arrested a school bus conductor who even confessed to killing the boy for catching him naked in the school’s toilet and resisting his molestation attempts.

Pradyuman’s family, however, did not believe in the story and sought a CBI probe.

Raghav was among the few to report the incident to the school authorities. He has been booked under Section 302 of the IPC and the Arms Act.

He was a key witness to the crime during the probe by the Gurugram police. Raghav’s family has accused the CBI of framing their son to gain media publicity.

“We have been cooperating with the authorities from day one. My son’s only fault was that he saw the boy and rushed to inform the school authorities. He was questioned numerous times by the Gurugram police and even the CBI. We have been called to the CBI headquarters many times. On Tuesday also, we went there to help but after making me sit for the entire day they came out around midnight and told me that my son is the murderer. I was not allowed to step out till they forcibly made me sign a confession which, they claimed, was his. I have full sympathy with Pardyuman’s family but my child should not be framed to satisfy media queries,” said Vinod Raghav.

While the CBI is yet to give details, the Gurugram police investigation and prompt arrest of the conductor has come under the scanner.
