Lucknow, October 2
Lone eyewitness to the murder of Apple executive Vivek Tiwari, his ex-colleague Sana Khan, today helped the special investigation team (SIT) recreate the crime scene.
The SIT, led by Lucknow IG Sujit Pandey, took Sana Khan and Vivek’s wife Kalpana Tiwari to the crime scene in Gomti Nagar extension where they recreated the sequence of events on the basis of Sana’s statement.
Sana Khan admitted that Tiwari did not stop the car when the two cops suddenly appeared before their vehicle as they seemed drunk and angry and had poked a stick through the open window.
She said the car was continuously moving as Tiwari had neither got off the vehicle nor entered into any arguments with the cops. Cop Prashant Chadhury aimed at Vivek holding his weapon with both hands and shot him without any provocation, she alleged. The vehicle came to a halt after ramming into a pillar of a nearby underpass.
According to Sana, she did not carry her phone that day and Tiwari’s phone was code-locked. Hence, she ran towards the road and cried out for help. Eventually, a police van came there and profusely bleeding Vivek Tiwari was taken to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital.
Half an hour after reaching the hospital, he succumbed to the bullet injury. The post-mortem examination confirmed that Tiwari died due to a gunshot injury on the left side of his chin. Talking to mediapersons, Sana said after interrogation at various police stations, she was made to sign a blank paper and kept under house arrest for over 17 hours. She alleged she was pressured to make a statement exonerating the police.
One of the woman constables who interrogated her roughly was Rakhi Malik, wife of Prashant Chaudhry who had shot Tiwari dead.
