A standing ovation from the judges of the US television show ‘America’s Got Talent’ has made ‘V Unbeatable’, a dance group from Mumbai’s slums, into social media stars.

The group comprising 28 dancers, which has been making waves on reality shows on Indian television, got a shot of international fame when they featured on the US television on May 28.

The group’s energetic dance moves had the judges of the television show, Gabrielle Union, Howie Mandel, Julianne Hough and Simon Cowell in raptures.

A standing ovation by the judges and the audience naturally followed the performance.

Clips of the performance being shared on social media featured the group grooving to the number ‘Malhari’ from the hit movie Bajirao Mastani.

Bollywood stars have joined the bandwagon with Sonam Kapoor Ahuja, Varun Dhawan, Riteish Deshmukh, etc singing the praises of ‘V Unbeatable’ on Twitter.

“Got a chance to dance with this team at the Wagah border for ‘Street Dancer 3’. They are unbelievable,” tweeted Varun.

“This is beyond amazing. They’ve come such a long way and are loaded with talent!,” Sonam added.

The group aged between 12 and 27 live in the city’s slums and formed the hip hop dance group to perform in films and television shows.

According to a message posted by the group on social media, the V in the ‘V Unbeatable’ stands for one of their team members Vikas Gupta who died of injuries while practising a dance stunt. The group said its members start their performances with the V sign in homage to their deceased friend.
