Dayal appointed head of MES personnel unit

Harishwar Dayal, 1981 batch Indian Defence Service of Engineers (IDSE) officer, has been appointed as the Director General (Personnel), Military Engineer Services, at the Army Headquarters.
Prior to this appointment, he was posted Additional Director General (Projects) in Chennai, responsible for works in entire Coast Guard, all Ordnance Factories, all DRDO labs, modernisation of central ordnance depots and some major Army installations.
An alumnus of the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, he is credited with the construction of highly specialised storage and handling facilities for missiles and different type of fuels for the first time in the country while working directly under Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, who was then the DRDO chief. He also constructed the first Aakash Missile Test Bed and compressed air facilities for trial of missile engine and various other special facilities and prestigious projects. — TNS
