DB Gupta Rajasthan’s new Chief Secy; 81 IAS officers transferred

Jaipur, May 1

DB Gupta, the seniormost IAS officer in the state, of the 1983 batch, was appointed chief secretary of Rajasthan on Monday night.

He succeeds Nihal Chand Goel, who retired on Monday.

Gupta is the sixth CS in four years of the current BJP government. He will also hold the post of Chairman, Rajasthan State Mines and Mineral Ltd, Udaipur, till further orders. He was till now Additional Chief Secretary in Finance, Excise and Taxation department. 

In a major reshuffle, the state government also effected transfers of 81 IAS officers.

Mukesh Sharma has been placed as ACS in the Finance department. 

Commissioner in DIPR Anuprerna Kuntal, a senior RAS officer, has been shifted to Rajasthan Seed Corporation as its Managing Director.
