Senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh today woke up to something even he did not know about himself! The veteran leader and party general secretary took to Twitter to express shock at the inclusion of his own and his family’s names in the list of below poverty line people, issued by both the Centre and the BJP-ruled Madhya Pradesh governments.
“Government of MP and Government of India include my name, my brother’s name, my son’s name in BPL! We all are income tax payees. We have neither applied nor taken any benefit under BPL. This is a conspiracy against me and my family,” Digvijaya tweeted to clear the air around the issue.
While Digvijaya, former MP CM, sought action against those responsible for what he described as a faux pas, BJP ignored his claims.
The ANI quoted BJP MP leader Rameshwar Sharma as saying, “This is a question only Digvijaya Singh can answer. He should reply as to how he has appeared on the list of the poor.”
