The Supreme Court Monday questioned the West Bengal State Election Commission (WBSEC) as to why such a huge number of candidates won unopposed in the recent panchayat polls.
A Bench headed by CJI Dipak Misra sought to know if WBSEC had conducted any exercise to figure out the possibility of candidates having been prevented from filing nominations in panchayat constituencies in which Trinamool Congress candidates had a walk over. — TNS
