New Delhi: Eminent economist and a former member of the erstwhile Planning Commission, Saumitra Chaudhuri, passed away early on Sunday. “He was diagnosed with lung cancer,” his nephew Abheek said. Chaudhuri, 62, was appointed member of the Planning Commission in June 2009. He was on the board of many high-level panels of the government. PTI
