Beleaguered businessman Vijay Mallya today told the Supreme Court that banks have no right over the information of his overseas movable and immovable assets as he was an NRI since 1988.

The Enforcement Directorate, meanwhile, has approached the External Affairs Ministry seeking initiation of deportation proceedings against Mallya in connection with its money laundering probe against him in the Rs 900-crore IDBI alleged loan fraud case.
