Educate kids about harmful effects of alcohol, drugs: SC to Centre

The Supreme Court told the Central Government on Friday to consider incorporating topics that deal with ill-effects of alcohol and drugs in school curriculum.

A bench of Justices MB Lokur and UU Lalit asked Additional Solicitor General Pinky Anand to consider suggestions made by NGO Bachpan Bachao Andolan.

The NGO informed the apex court of the "alarming" spurt in the use of drugs and among minors in India and highlighted the need to educate them.

The court will hear the case on February 26 next.

The bench was hearing a PIL filed by NGO 'Bachpan Bachao Aandolan (BBA)' on the large number of missing children across the country. PTI
