The Election Commission of India (ECI) has ordered the suspension of IAS officer and Vikarabad collector Syed Umar Jalil for violating election norms in December 2018.

The Congress had demanded from the state election commission to suspend the collector who allegedly removed the seals of EVMs when a petition pertaining to the Vikarabad assembly election was pending in court.
