Dehradun, June 10
After the refusal by the Harish Rawat government to recommend a CBI probe into the fake IAS Ruby Chowdhury case, the Uttarakhand Police today appointed another senior officer to investigate the matter. Dr Sadanand Datte, an SSP-rank officer and in charge of the Special Investigating Team, will further investigate the matter.
Chowdhry masqueraded as an IAS probationer and stayed at Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA), Mussoorie, for nearly seven months. The matter was reported by the academy administration to Mussoorie police on March 31.
She was arrested and sent to jail. After nearly one-and-a-half months, Ruby was granted bail on May 16.
