Jaipur, June 29
A debt-ridden farmer allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree in Bharatpur district of Rajasthan, police said on Thursday.
Thirty-eight-year-old Tuhiram hanged himself from a tree in his farm at Sogar village under Kumher police station on Wednesday.
“His brother said he had taken a loan of Rs 4 lakh and was unable to repay. Therefore, he was under stress,” investigating officer Jaldeep Yadav said.
The body was handed over to the family after post-mortem. PTI
