ITI diploma holders working as apprentices in various government departments organised a protest march here today. The protesters included girls in large numbers.
Shouting slogans, they reached the Mini-Secretariat and submitted a memorandum of demands addressed to Haryana Chief Minister to City Magistrate Vijender Hooda.
In the memorandum, they pointed out that they were appointed in various govt departments for a year. Now, their tenure was coming to an end and after that, they would be rendered jobless.
They have urged the Chief Minister that their jobs should be regularised or they should be re-appointed on DC rates.
The protesters, including Neeraj, Manjeet, Ashu, Baljeet Kaur, Ajay, Santosh and Neelam, said that the government had been making repeated claims of providing jobs to the youth of the state. During the past year, they had been doing their duty in various departments with dedication. If now, their services are discontinued, they would have no option but to protest on the roads.
They said that they were optimistic that the Chief Minister would understand their problem and take steps to ensure that they were not thrown out of their jobs.
