In what is a rare sight onboard Mumbai’s local trains, commuters travelling on the Central Railway’s Harbour Line on Friday night saw a young woman lean out of a running train and perform dangerous stunts risking life and limb.
According to commuters who uploaded the video on social media, the young woman stood on the footboard of the train between Reay Road and Cotton Green stations.
While the train moved at high speed, she is seen leaning across and tapping railway poles one after the other with practised ease.
At the Cotton Green station, she is seen jumping off the train even before it came to a halt.
According to officials of the Railway Protection Force who questioned witnesses after the video was uploaded, the woman was travelling in the first class compartment with a group of friends.
Regular commuters said they did not recognise her though RPF officials felt that she must have performed similar stunts before.
“We are still trying to identify her,” an RPF official said.
