IAS officer booked for ‘killing’ wife
Lucknow, September 6
An FIR for murder has been filed against State Urban Development Authority (SUDA) Director Umesh Pratap Singh on Friday for allegedly killing his wife, Anita Singh.
On September 1, Anita was found dead. She had reportedly shot herself dead with her husband’s licenced revolver in their Vikalp Khand house.
The husband claimed that she had been suffering from depression and was under medication for the past two years. However, no suicide note was recovered.
On the complaint of a cousin of the deceased, Rajiv Pratap Singh, an FIR has been lodged at the Chinhat police station under Sections 302 (murder) and 201 (causing disappearance of evidence of offence or giving false information to screen offender) of the IPC. — TNS
